About Jennifer
Jennifer is a private consultant specializing in training and advising animal care and control agencies on best practices and standards of care. An Indiana native, she started in animal welfare in 1971 as a volunteer and went on to hold leadership positions at four animal welfare agencies (Indiana and Illinois) as well as two tenures with the American Humane Association (Denver). She has visited well over 300 animal care and control agencies throughout her career helping 1000's of animal welfare workers do their jobs effectively, humanely and with compassion.
Currently, she is the principle trainer for the American Humane Association's Shelter Operations Schools as well as The Humane Society of the United States', Animal Shelter Boot Camps. She also conducts trainings and animal shelter consultations across the country and is a frequent presenter at national and state animal welfare trainings. Her operations, management, leadership and customer service trainings receive high accolades from participants (see testimonials). With her diverse background, she assists agencies and leaders in creating a matrix for lasting change.
Jenny’s enthusiastic style and extensive knowledge creates the framework for a lively and intense workshop. She is the 2006 recipient of the Dennis J. White Faculty Award by American Humane for teaching excellence and is committed to helping those working with animals do their jobs better. Since January 2006, she estimates that she has presented well over 800 hours of training.
